Hello, It’s August first! It’s really hard to believe! It has been a fast year despite all the downtime we all have had at home. However, now it’s the weekend and time for Word Week at Just Us Girls. The word as you can see is Travel. I have a graduation card for you using the fun Stampin Up Hot Air Balloon die. I love this set but never pull it out to use very often. Each section of the balloon comes in pieces so you can change the colors as you go down before you put on the overlay die. I hope you can see and understand what I mean. The clouds are from MFT. I used lots of dimensionals to lift my balloon into the sky.
We have a new guest joining us this week and it is 全球加速节点! Welcome, Lisa! So glad to have you along!
Come join us at Just Us Girls we would love to have you. Nanc’

Hello, Today over at Seize the Birthday we have a new challenge beginning and Ashwini has picked a tic tac toe board for us to chose from. I always enjoy these types of challenges.
I have chosen the middle row of; Inlaid-die-cutting, flowers, and water coloring. I just love this flower from MFT and thought it would look great watercolored. I heat embossed the flower first and then while I was at it I decided to watercolor the background as well. Since I finally got the die-cut ( that is constantly out of stock over at MFT) to go with the flower it worked perfectly for the inlaid part of my row. I finished it off with an MFT birthday greeting and some sequins.
I hope you will come check out the lovely array of cards over at Seize the Birthday…the team and our guest Jen did a great job once again.

Hello, I hope you are having a great day! Today’s card all began with this fun but slightly challenging photo this week over at Just Us Girls. Lisa really made me put my thinking cap on for this one. After a few days, I had an epiphany and remembered that years ago I had a digital stamp that was a swing. Luckily for me, it was still on my computer. I came to realize I actually downloaded it back in 2006 and it’s from Bugaboo Stamps. They are still going strong, and have a huge variety of stamps, and I have linked up their site for you HERE.
As for the other details on my card: I used Copics and Colored Pencils as my medium. I sponged the sky using Oxide Ink and my MFT stencil. In fact, the rest of the supplies are all MFT. I hope the green cloud stencil looks like the treetop that the swing is hanging from. Hubby said NO, but what does he know? I did some paper piecing too.
Just popping in today with a card for this week’s Color Throwdown. I had colored this rose about a month ago and it’s been sitting and waiting for me to put it to use on a card. That rose was done with my very first online coloring class with colored pencil over at Kit and Clowder. It’s not perfect but I learned a lot. It took me far longer than it should have. LOL
Card Details: The Rose digi is from Power Poppy, the buttons, heart, and scalloped rectangle are MFT, the sentiment and scalloped edge are Papertrey Ink.
I think I am going to link up too over at Inkspirational where the challenge is painting or coloring.
Have a wonderful day and stay safe, Nanc’

Today’s cards are for this month’s Twofer Challenge. The word Darnell has for us is Butterflies. Well, I don’t know many cardmakers that don’t have a few butterflies in their stash of supplies. The hardest part was deciding which one. I decided to get out my neglected die-cut from Saavy for my cards. The die is a bit challenging as it is so large and takes up so much space on a card front. I decided to try my hand at making some backgrounds for both cards since the cards themselves were going to end up being rather simple.
The green and black card all started with some Alcohol Inks on glossy cardstock. Then I did the lifting technique with some blending solution and a leaf stencil. You can’t really see the pattern of the leaf once the butterfly was cut out, but it does have a very cool effect on the butterfly. The sending hugs sentiment is from Altenew. It’s one of my favs for sure. Here is the video by Jennifer McGuire.
The other colorful panel is the Technique that Gina K and Rina did last week called Reverse Stenciling. That was a lot of fun to do. I highly recommend it. You have to look a little closer to see the butterfly. The thanks die is from Saavy as well.
Thanks for popping in and I hope you have a very creative day and stay safe, Nanc’

I look forward to your continued success and many more challenges to come.
I found an old background that I had made using the smooshing technique awhile ago in one of my drawers today and knew it would work out perfectly with this adorable tree die from MFT that I just received. I made another card with the leftover outer background. I couldn’t let it go to waste. CAS is a challenge for me but I like these cards.
I am going to link up the bottom card over at Darnell’s 旋风加速器xf9. im
The sentiments are from Papertrey Ink and I also added some clear Nuvo Drops.
I so appreciate you coming by, stay well. Nanc’

Hello, It’s Sunday at least I think it is. I have a fun card for you today for a couple of challenges. My idea began with this great sketch over at 日本节点免费加速器When I first looked at the sketch I saw a swimming pool. Plus, I just got the new Perfect Pool water stencil from MFT that I have been itching to use. Next, I decided to pair it up with the word Peaceful at Time Out Challenge. I don’t know about you, but there is nothing more peaceful to me than floating around a swimming pool on an innertube. Boy do I miss our pool, especially this summer with the pandemic and all. At least my little MFT Elephant is enjoying himself on this hot summer day. I put a light coat of white ink over my first color of Broken China Oxide ink. It really looks great IRL. Still have a lot to learn with Copics but I will get there.
All stamps and the stencil are MFT.
I so appreciate you stopping by, Nanc’

Thanks Kindly
Hi, Hope you are doing well and staying safe the best you can these days. We have a great color trio starting today at Just Us Girls. The colors as you see are Light Grey, Teal, and Mustard. Today’s card is a CASE of this card Here. I love taking a card I admire and creating it myself, and I personally think it’s a great compliment to the original designer.
I just love this Stampin Up set called Bloom and Grow. I didn’t do my card in the most logical way. I am having a run of stupidity this week, and It’s becoming a serious problem. I wish I was kidding. I am going to refer to it as Pandemic brain. I think we could collectively use that excuse for just about anything that goes wrong in our life these days. Join me! Don’t take the fall alone. LOL
Anyways, as for my stupidity, I ended up sponging the background last instead of first and it caused a little bit of a muted look on my flowers. I used Copics and the sentiment is also Stampin Up.
I hope you pop on over to JUGS and join us! The team did another great job this week. Take care, Nanc’

Felt Flowers
Hello, I have been taking a small break from card making and have been tackling some design work on the computer. Details with what I have up my sleeve will come later! Anyways, Today over at Seize the Birthday we have a brand new topping starting. Glenda has asked us to use a non-neutral card base on our cards. Easy enough! The only thing about this card that is a tad bothersome is my flowers aren’t centered and too close to the top of the card. Oh well, It is what it is.
Card Details: Flowers are MFT, the Vase is a block stamp I have had for ages, the stems of my flowers are Elizabeth Craft Designs, the banner die is Spellbinders and the sentiment is Verve.
As you can tell I heat embossed my jar on a piece of decorative vellum from SU. Some sequins and clear gems and I was done.
Thanks for coming by and visiting and I hope you will consider joining us at Seize the Birthday! We would love to have you. Nanc’

Cupcakes
Hi, Today’s card is for the fun color combo over at My Favorite Things. I have had these cute little cupcakes for quite some time and decided it was past time to get them broken in. This card ended up quite different than where it began. I decided I wanted to make my own watercolored background, but after many tries, I couldn’t get the layout to jive with the full piece that I created. However, I loved parts of it so that is why I ended with just a circle. I think the cupcakes look yummy especially the marbled icing. The sentiments are from Verve and the Ric Rac die is MFT along with the Wonky Rectangle. The circle and square die is SU and the scalloped circle is Spellbinders.
